Collaborations with other creators

A collab = a post two creators shoot together. It's not a growth trick for beginners — it's a Stage 3 tool, when you already have a stable audience and need to reach an adjacent one. The right collab adds 30–50% follow-rate from a single reel.

Two collab types

*Visibility collab*: both creators publish the same reel on their feeds and tag each other — each gets access to the other's audience. *Revenue collab*: one creates the content, the other promotes their Trendweave Store through it. Visibility is about reach, revenue is about CR. In Indian fashion, visibility-collab is the more common one.

Who to pick

Not 'someone in the same niche' — adjacent and not competing. If you're modest office wear, your collab partner is minimalist home decor, not another office-wear creator. Your audiences should overlap on lifestyle but not on the same products — otherwise you're splitting one pie.

Honest mention is the key element

The caption must include: who invited whom, why, and that both of you are Trendweave creators. This closes compliance (Lesson 6) and builds real trust — the viewer can tell you picked each other for taste, not commission. Template: 'Shot this reel with @collaborator — we both work through Trendweave, and our tastes overlap. #Ad #Collab'.

How to track

Trendweave Statistics counts clicks on your link regardless of whose reel it lives in; if a collab reel runs on both feeds, each of you earns commission through your own link. The product currently has no built-in split-attribution tool for a shared reel — that means revenue gets allocated to whichever link the buyer used, not split 50/50. Agree on this with your collab partner beforehand.

What not to do

Don't do more than one collab per month — the Instagram algorithm reads 'too much new co-content' as spam. Don't collab with a creator whose compliance is worse than yours — trust drops in both audiences. Don't pay 'money upfront' for a collab — the normal arrangement is through Trendweave commission, not a bank transfer.
