Stage 4 — ActivationShould

Analysing your own pipeline

Analysing your own pipeline

A scout who never looks at their own pipeline repeats the same losses every month. Analysis is what turns 3 activations out of 100 touches into 6. This is the last lesson — and it's the one that makes every earlier lesson compound.

The stages of a scout's funnel

Your funnel has five stages: touch → reply → registration → first post → first sale. Every join between two stages is a place where someone drops off. The funnel doesn't leak evenly — it leaks hardest at one specific join, and that join is different for every scout. You can't fix it until you can see it.

Where it usually leaks

Each leak points back to a lesson. Few replies — the problem is in the first message (Lessons 13–14). Plenty of replies but few registrations — it's objections and follow-up (Lessons 15–16). Registrations but few activations — it's the handoff and the first post (Lessons 17 and 20). Find your worst join. That single weakest stage is where one improvement moves your whole number.

What to do with it

Work one join at a time. Pick the worst, form one hypothesis about why it leaks, change one thing, and measure. Don't rework the whole funnel at once — you won't know what helped. Run a retrospect on a regular rhythm, weekly or monthly, using the form in your cabinet, so the analysis is a habit and not a one-off.

Coming soon — Scout AI funnel insights

This analysis will get an assistant. Soon Scout AI will highlight your weakest join automatically and offer personalised recommendations on what to change. Until it ships, you are the analyst: the five-stage funnel and the regular retrospect in this lesson are how you do it by hand — and doing it by hand now is what will make the AI's suggestions easy to act on later.

Key takeaway: You can't fix what you don't measure. Your single worst funnel join is your biggest lever.

Next step: That completes the Scout Academy. From here it's practice, rhythm, and growth — and the funnel you now know how to read.
